Traveling to the Southern Thailand Border - Dannok

It's been a while since I've gotten my passport stamped, thus, I thought I could do a day trip at the southern Thailand border. Being a frequent traveler to Thailand, I've always booked a van service to take me to the border. This time, it's really my first time trying out going to the border by foot.

It wasn't a good day for me as I forgotten to bring my umbrella.
Thus, I bought a not-so-nice one that day.
Moreover exchange rate is really bad. It's like 8.30 rate.
Then, I didn't know how to get the immigration form. So i chose the easier way to go to the shop and get it printed out (I later found out from my next trip that i can walk into the office to get one)

I started my walk along the shops to take a look at clothes, food, and also I bought a floor mat (funny, i thought it was nice). Also, not forgetting 7-11 for the cold drinks.
The weather was really crazy that I stopped at McD for free wifi and aircon, and the samurai pork burger.

Seriously, tahpau-ed Pork Leg rice in McD.

After much rest, I seriously continued my 'walking journey' to MBI and Asian Cultural village.
Have heard a lot about mface, mbi, mcoin and decided to pay a visit to this place.

I walked really far for this, while stopping by tesco lotus.
It's not difficult to find, as it's just along the main road of the small Dannok town.
It's on our left hand side from the immigration border.

I was greeted with love locks.

Then, there were many pandas.
It's day time. So, no lights ok?

Hello Kitty along the way

The famous Koh Kae peanuts
(i manage to buy from tesco lotus.. yay )

The famous Dinosaur park.

Interestingly, we can use mcoin to transact anything within the Asean Cultural Village. Thus, it's seriously a cashless place, provided if you have invested in Mface. I didn't enter any of the parks as it require entrance fees as I find it not really worth it (or you may call it cheapskate).

Felt a little stupid after snapping so many pictures under the hot sun.
So decided to leave the Asean Cultural Village, and i was there too early, thus there weren't visitors there. It's just some crazy Malaysian (me) walking towards the place (Most people had transport to the place)

I was finally in the aircon place.
Decided to walk to the MBI international resorts to have a look at the things. I see many malaysian stuff though.

Had an awesome boat noodles with chicken rice. Unlimited supplies of fresh leaves/vege.
When it starts to get dark around 8pm, I started walking back to the border, dropped by to see some clothes along the way and grabbed some snacks at the night market.

Oh well, it's a good thailand experience for a day trip.

What's the Difference between 'Net' and "Nett"

Since it's part of my group's job to publish daily billings report to the management, our Director (from US) pinpointed that we should fix the spelling of 'nett billings' to 'net billings'. My colleauge was looking at google, trying to understand the 'right' spelling to be used. I finally checked it from Wikipedia , and found that 'nett' is BRITISH and 'net' is AMERICAN. No wonder he's offended to fix it to 'net'! C'mon. I'm in an american MNC, I should be more sensitive towards this.

An afternoon at Dannok

Living at the northern side of Malaysia makes it really convenient and easy to go 'overseas'. For us, going to our neighboring country, be it Thailand or Singapore by land or by flight is really easy. I'm always a fan of Thai food, and with the remaining Thai bahts that I had since my last Bangkok trip (which I didn't finish even crossing the border a couple or times), I decided to go Dannok for FOOD again. So, it's a day trip or rather, half day tour to Dannok For the past few weeks, I was searching for insta / blog /facebook posts if there is any other new hangouts in Dannok, but sadly, I couldn't find many bloggers who write about it. The funny part is, I already blogged about it two years ago. The immigration complex in Malaysia is new. I nearly couldn't recognize it, while passing to get our passport checked. As I didn't want to drive over, we parked our car at the Zon Duty Free. As I entered, I took the wrong ticket (which parking rate is RM3
